LNG Terminal - Break Bulk Rotterdam

Vopak Gasunie has developed a Break Bulk LNG terminal (LBBR Terminal) to the west of the existing GATELNG terminal in Rotterdam. The purpose of this terminal is to load LNG onto boats, ships, and trucks for transportation.
The LNG comes from storage tanks in the GATE Terminal.
Sacyr Fluor was awarded the contract to provide engineering, procurement, and management services for the construction of the LNG Break Bulk terminal in Rotterdam for Gate Terminal. The services provided by SacyrFluor in the terminal cover the jetty, the loading facilities, boil-off gas compressors, connection to the LNG terminal, and other facilities.
The new facilities increase refueling capacity for the north of Europe and facilitate the management of large-scale LNG loading.
The aim of the LNG Break Terminal project is to help tackle northern Europe’s LNG needs regarding the transportation of fuel. The terminal divides large scale LNG shipments into smaller quantities to facilitate the distribution of LNG, which will be used as a fuel for boats and heavy trucks.
