Conversion of the Refinery in Porto
Sacyr Fluor helped the Porto Refinery, owned by Petrogal, a subsidiary of Galp Energia, to produce around 2.3 million tons of diesel, gasoline, and kerosene fuels a year, and to comply with European environmental regulations.
Sacyr Fluor provided the FEED, engineering, procurement, and construction services for new and renewed units within the refinery.
In the first stage, Sacyr Fluor completed the FEED, and in the second stage, the engineering, procurement, and construction.
The work included new processing units, new offsite facilities and processing units, and renewed units and facilities.
Following the construction of a naphtha hydrodesulfurization unit for Galp, SacyrFluor was awarded the contract to provide FEED, engineering, procurement, and construction services for a project to convert the refinery.
Upon completion, the refinery was producing close to 2.3 million tons of diesel, gasoline, and kerosene fuels per year.
