Cavosa

In 1976, Cavosa made its first foray into the subterranean works sector with the Pancorbo Tunnels. Later, in the 1990s, the firm set up its own Department of Subterranean Works, giving the company a major boost in a market that was undergoing major growth at the time. In order to stand out in such a competitive market, CAVOSA has had to evolve and rapidly improve in order to secure a market share, making a name for itself and gaining prestige steadily over the years.
In 1999, Sacyr, one of the most important construction firms in Spain, became a shareholder of Cavosa. As a result of this change to its shareholding structure, the company made changes to its business strategies, specializing in Subterranean Works.
Therefore, Cavosa became directly dependent on the construction branch of Grupo Sacyr, headed up by Sacyr Construcción.
As a result of this new situation, Cavosa’s scope for action has broadened, getting involved in all the major projects developed by the group as a company specializing in subterranean works, participating in the development and execution of the major infrastructure works carried out in Spain in recent years.
On any type of terrain, in any type of geology, in civil engineering, and in transport, hydraulic, industrial, or environmental infrastructures.  Regardless of the tunnel design, Cavosa can rise to the challenge of executing the project both in terms of the main contractors and the quality of subcontractors.
Cavosa is exceptionally capable when it comes to building underground transport, hydraulic, industrial and environmental infrastructures, thanks to its Know-How, the capacity of its staff, and its large machinery stock.
